Privacy Policy

Moments is made by Love, Cole LLC, a small family-led studio. This app holds some of the most personal things you have (the little moments of your kids’ lives), so we treat your privacy as the whole point, not the fine print. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and the promises we keep.
Our promises
- No ads, ever. We don’t show ads and we don’t let anyone pay to reach you here.
- We don’t sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
- No third-party trackers. We don’t embed advertising or analytics SDKs that follow you around.
- Your memories are yours. You can export everything, anytime, for free, and delete it all whenever you want.
What we collect
The memories you create
The heart of the app: the notes, quotes, milestones, photos, and videos you capture, and the family members you add them about. This content is yours. We store it so the app works across your devices and with the family you choose to share with.
Your account
You can start using Moments without signing in. If you secure your account with Sign in with Apple or an email address, we store that sign-in so you can recover your memories. We use it for essential account messages, not marketing.
Photos & videos
The originals on your device’s photo library remain the source of truth. To sync and display your memories, we keep a compressed copy on our servers; if you subscribe to Moments+, we also back up the full-resolution original. If you allow location access, photos and videos you capture in the app are geotagged so a memory can remember where it happened, but that location is written only into the original saved in your own device’s photo library. The copies we upload to our servers do not include location. You can turn location off anytime in your device settings.
Full-resolution backup runs while a Moments+ subscription covering the child is active. If it lapses, backup pauses; nothing viewable is ever deleted, and after a 90-day grace period with export reminders, only the stored full-resolution originals are reclaimed. The everyday copies you see in the app are kept regardless of subscription.
Limited technical data
To keep the app stable and understand what’s working, we collect basic crash and diagnostic reports and our own first-party usage events (for example, that a memory was created). These live in our own systems. We do not feed them to advertising networks.
Subscriptions
Moments+ is sold through Apple. Apple handles your payment; we never see your card details. We receive confirmation of your subscription status so we can unlock the right features.
What we never do
There is no social graph in Moments: no friends, feeds, or likes. Nothing you capture is public. Sharing only ever happens when you choose to: when you make a share card or export, the app hands it to your own device’s share sheet so you decide where it goes.
Who can see your memories
Only you and the people you explicitly invite. We use established service providers to run the app (our backend and storage host, our crash-reporting tool, and Apple for sign-in and subscriptions), and they process data only to provide their service to us, never for their own purposes.
Children’s privacy
Moments is designed for parents and guardians to record memories of their own family. It is intended for adults; we do not knowingly let children create their own accounts. The information about a child in the app is entered and controlled by the parent or guardian who owns the account, and can be edited or deleted by them at any time.
Your controls
- Export everything. Anytime, for free, from within the app.
- Edit or delete any memory whenever you like.
- Delete your account. Deletion is per person: it removes your identity and your private moments, and you choose whether the moments you captured of a shared child stay with that child’s family or leave with you. If a child’s last remaining parent deletes their account, that child’s memories enter a 90-day read-only archive with export reminders, then are deleted.
- Manage permissions (camera, microphone, photos, location) in your device settings.
Keeping it safe
Your data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with a reputable cloud provider. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your memories the way we’d want our own protected.
Changes to this policy
If we make a meaningful change, we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. Continuing to use Moments after a change means you accept the updated policy.
