We’re a small family studio, and a real person reads every message. Email us at hello@lovecole.co and we’ll get back to you, usually within a day or two.

Getting started

Capture your first moment

Open the Capture tab, pick what kind of moment it is (a quote, an observation, a milestone, or a keepsake), write a line or two, and tap Remember. That’s it. You can add photos or video too, but you don’t have to: some of the best moments are just the words.

No account needed

Moments works the second you open it. No sign-up wall. When you’re ready to sync across devices or share with family, go to Settings and secure your account with your email or Sign in with Apple. Until then, your moments live safely on your iPhone.

Invite the other parent

In Settings, tap Invite someone and choose “A co-parent.” They get a 6-digit code or a link, and once they’re in, they’re fully equal: they can add, edit, and manage moments right alongside you.

Tips we love

Put a moment on your Home or Lock Screen

Add the “A Moment” widget: touch and hold your Home Screen, tap the plus button, and search for Moments. It quietly resurfaces a different moment through the day, and tapping it opens the app right into reliving. It works on the Lock Screen too.

Turn your nightstand into a memory frame

With the widget added, place your iPhone on a charger on its side while locked. StandBy turns it into a small frame that quietly shows a moment while you wind down, changing every few hours. It’s our favorite way to end the day.

Relive on purpose

In the Moments tab, tap the frame icon to start Relive: a calm, full-screen slideshow that slowly drifts through your record and keeps the screen awake. Lovely on a docked iPhone at a family dinner. Tap the screen for controls, including order, speed, and dark mode.

Pull down to remember

At the top of your timeline, keep pulling down past the edge. Moments hands you one memory back, a little surprise from the past. Swipe down for another. And on a real anniversary, look for “One year ago today” at the top of the timeline.

Let Sunday evenings surprise you

In Settings, under Reflections, turn on “A moment to relive.” Each Sunday evening we send one moment from your record back to you. One notification a week, nothing more. (If you said no to notifications earlier, allow them for Moments in your iPhone’s Settings first.)

Backdate the ones you almost lost

Remembered something from last month? While capturing, open Options and tap “When” to set the real date and time, so it lands in the right place in their story.

Keep some moments just for you

Not everything is for sharing. While capturing, open Options and turn on “Keep just for me.” That moment stays out of family sharing and off the widget. It’s still yours, in your timeline and your exports.

Choose the photo that leads

When a moment has several photos, tap the star on your favorite to make it the cover. That’s the one that leads the moment in your timeline and on the widget.

Find anything later

Search your moments by a feeling, a place, or a name. Or use the filter on the Moments tab to narrow by child, type, or date, and switch the timeline between day, month, and year views to see their story from up close or far away.

Sharing with family

Groups for the people who’d want to see

In Settings, tap Invite someone and choose “Someone to follow along.” Make a group for grandparents, one for aunts and uncles, one for close friends. Each group is its own quiet space: they can see, react, comment, and even add their own moments of the kids you share with them. They can never change yours, and nothing in a group is ever public.

Joining with a code

Got a 6-digit code from family? Open Moments, secure your account in Settings first (email or Sign in with Apple), then enter the code under “Invite code.” If you were sent a link, just tap it.

Common questions

What’s free, and what’s Moments+?

Almost everything is free: unlimited text and photo moments, all your kids, sharing and groups, share cards, Relive, the widget, search, and export. Free also includes 3 short video clips (15 seconds each) every 30 days, and deleting a clip frees up a slot. Moments+ unlocks longer clips (up to 30 seconds each) with no monthly limit, plus full-resolution backup of your photos and videos in the cloud (up to 100 GB). Subscriptions are handled by Apple. You can manage or cancel anytime in Settings inside the app, or in your iPhone’s Settings under your Apple Account → Subscriptions.

Our promise on the free line

We never lock moments you already captured. If you subscribe and later stop, everything you made stays yours to see, share, and export. Paid limits only ever apply going forward.

One honest footnote, so there are no surprises: full-resolution cloud copies are part of Moments+. If a subscription stays lapsed for a year or more, we may reduce stored full-resolution copies to the same standard quality free accounts use, to keep storage costs fair for everyone. Your moments are never deleted or locked either way, and your original photos and videos stay right where they started, in your iPhone’s photo library.

Exporting your memories

In Settings, under Account, you can export everything anytime, for free: a single file with all your moments, photos, and videos, including a page you can open in any browser and flip through. Your memories are always yours to take with you.

Getting a new iPhone?

If you haven’t secured your account yet, do it before you switch: in Settings, add your email or Sign in with Apple. Until then, your current iPhone is the only way back to your moments. Once secured, just sign in on the new phone and everything comes with you.

Restoring your Moments+ purchase

Subscribed before, on this or another device? On the Moments+ screen, tap Restore. Make sure the device is signed in with the same Apple Account you subscribed with. If it still doesn’t come back, email us and we’ll sort it out together.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account and the data you created from within the app’s Settings. It’s permanent, so consider exporting first. If you’d like help, just email us.

Found a bug or have an idea?

We’d genuinely love to hear it. Tell us what happened or what you wish Moments did, and it goes straight to the people building it.
